Sensor and its usage
GYROSCOPE SENSOR

Gyroscope sensor is used in orientation of your phone. This is the sensor decides your phone portrait and landscape modes. Also, used a lot when playing racing games to move left and right by tilting.

MAGNETOMETER

Magnetometer is used in compass. To show the north east west south direction in your mobile using some magnetic field.

LIGHT SENSOR

Ambient Light Sensor is used to detect the incoming light to your display and its is used in Auto brightness.

PROXIMITY SENSOR

Proximity sensor is used to detect user face is close to phone. Most used while calling to turn off display lights automatically when phone close to our ears while calling.

FINGER PRINT SENSOR

Finger print sensor is used to authenticate the user finger print to verify and allow access.

MOTION SENSOR

Motion sensor is used to detect the shaking in device or swing in devive by device movements.

ENVIRONMENT SENSOR

Environment sensor is used to detect temperature and humidity in particular devices of our environment. It works with the combination of Bluetooth

POSITION SENSOR

Position sensors are useful for determining a device's physical position in the world's frame of reference. For example, you can use the geomagnetic field sensor in combination with the accelerometer to determine a device's position relative to the magnetic north pole.

ACCELEROMETER

Accelerometer is also used in orientation of the applications in device. But, uses less power when compared to other motion sensors.

TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Temperature sensor is used in two ways, one to detect the built in battery temperature, which is available in most of the device. Another one is to detect the surrounding room temperature, ehich is available in least devices.

AIR HUMIDITY SENSOR

Air Humidity sensor is also used to measure the temperature and air humidity around the smartphone.

BAROMETER SENSOR

The barometer assists the GPS chip inside the device to get a faster lock by instantly delivering altitude data. Additionally, the barometer can be utilized to provide 'floors climbed' information to a phones 'health' app.

NFC SENSOR

NFC stands for Near Field Communication. Its used to exchange the data between one device to another in very short range. Mainly used for cardless payments, wireless charging, and some custom command using programmable tags.

PEDOMETER SENSOR

Pedometer sensor is used to count and calculate our steps walked mainly used in health apps.

HALL SENSOR

Hall sensor is used in detect the proximity of a magnet embedded in the cover or case for the device, in order to automatically turn the screen off when the cover is closed.

IRIS SENSOR

Iris sensor is a face recognition sensor used with camera to detect accurate alignments and structure from eyes.

INFRARED BLASTER

Infrared Blaster is well known as IR sensor. Which is used for Universal remote usage and very low speed file transfers.

ANEMOMETER SENSOR

Anemometer is used for real time wind and temperature data on the movements.

HEART RATE MONITOR

Heart rate monitor sensor is used to measure your heart rate using your pulse per minute calculations.

RADIATION SENSOR

Radiation sensor is used with the built in camera to detect the gamma rays around the device and that's how it works.

PRESSURE SENSOR

Pressure sensor is used to calculate the Pressure of the atmosphere from the sea level.

POSTURE SENSOR

Posture sensor used to measure the posture of our body close to device or far way to device using with gravity sensor.

GPS

GPS stands for Global Positioning System, which is used to get your current location accurately on world wide.

NAVIC

NavIC stands for Navigation Indian Constellation, which is similar to GPS. But, made by Indian. Which also known as IRNSS (Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System). Simply an Indian GPS. Which will be tested now in only few new models of smartphone which is more accurate than GPS.
